The new Elex trailer is already on the net
After not successful series of Risen, which the game press perceived ambiguously, the German developer Piranha Bytes finally made an attempt to rehabilitate himself in the eyes of the fans. Announcements and trailers confirm: Elex will be radically different from Gothic.
In Elex there will be no dragons and orcs. The game will take us to the post-apocalyptic planet Magalan, where it’s quite unhappy now. 100 years ago, a giant meteorite struck Magalan, bringing with it destruction and chaos. Not everyone managed to survive. The rescued were enslaved by the alien substance Eleks, which arrived on the planet together with the meteorite. An unknown substance completely changed the fauna and flora, many animals turned into dangerous bloodthirsty creatures. The main danger of Eleks is suppression of human feelings and emotions. The substance gives people incredible power and endows them with magical abilities, turning them into indifferent, calculating and cynical creatures devoid of humanity. Certain categories of people under the influence of Eleks in the literal sense of the word lose their face. The power of the alien substance is very strong: a weak-willed person mutates and becomes a monster.
The protagonist is also densely “hooked” on the Eleks. But due to certain circumstances, he is deprived of an alien drug. Gradually, emotions and feelings begin to return to him. This will begin his journey in full dangers and temptations to the post-apocalyptic world.
Presented in mid-April trailer Elex barely opened the veil of secrets about the plot twists of the game. But it was a confirmation of the promise given to Piranha Bytes by fans: the developers created a one-piece (without division into locations) and a completely open world. Absolute independence of actions and choices, freedom of movement and research – this is what awaits us in Elex.
The release of the game should take place in June 2017. Elex will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC platforms. What will win: emotions or cold calculation? There is time to think.
